These are estimates

Every calculator on this site gives you a fast, practical estimate to help you plan material, check your math, or double-check a number on the job site. They are not a substitute for:

• Your local building, electrical, or plumbing code
• Manufacturer specifications for the specific materials you're using
• Sign-off from a licensed professional (electrician, structural engineer, inspector) where one is required

Always verify critical numbers — especially anything load-bearing, electrical, or safety-related — before you cut, pour, or wire anything.

Electrical calculators

Wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and load calculations are planning estimates only. Electrical work is regulated by your local electrical code and should be verified by a licensed electrician before work begins.

Structural calculators

Beam span, load, and framing estimates are rule-of-thumb figures meant for rough planning, not engineering calculations. Anything structural — load-bearing walls, beams, foundations — should be reviewed by a licensed structural engineer.
